Events & Visitor Attractions
Baltersan Castle is within easy reach of Scotland’s leading racecourse in Ayr, the county town famous for its annual Flower Show and as the birthplace of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns. Among popular local events are classic and vintage car shows at 18th century Culzean Castle, and festivals such as Marymass and Mauchline’s Holy Fair.
There are numerous castles and historic houses to visit and for the more active, there is an abundance of opportunities for hill-walking, fishing, sailing and playing golf. The Open Championship is likely to be in Ayrshire (Turnberry and Royal Troon) twice every 7 years.
Trips to our main cities are highly recommended; Glasgow is only 45 minutes from Baltersan, Stirling is 80 minutes drive and the capital, Edinburgh is a two-hour journey.
